Supporting Human Resource Capacity Building, Pustarhut Held Inhouse Training: Forest Carbon Accounting and Business Plan Preparation and Digital Marketing of Honey Products Indonesia | 17/05/2023

In order to increase human resource capacity through cooperation in the implementation of the AFoCO 023/2021 project, The Center for Standardization of Sustainable Forest Management Instruments (Pustarhut), recently  held inhouse training at the Prime Park Hotel Pekanbaru, Riau.

"In addition to focusing on activities in building pilots for rehabilitation, AFoCO activities also touch on aspects of increasing human resource capacity, which plays an important role in forest and environmental resource management," said Wening Sri Wulandari, Director of Pustarhut who also acts as the Implementing Agency of the AFoCO Project.

"This inhouse training will support the achievement of Indonesia's net emissions and contribute to sustainable forest resource management and environment in Indonesia," explained Ary Sudijanto, Director General of of BSILHK (), the Standardization Agency for Environmental and Forestry Instruments) in his opening remarks.

Ary also stated that the training is one of the concrete actions of BSILHK's role in supporting environmental and forestry management, as well as clarifying the role of BSILHK as a service function in charge of supporting tasks in line functions or tasks of the directorate general of engineering.

The training raised 2 topics at once, namely Forest Carbon Calculation Based on SNI 7724:2019, as well as Business Plan Preparation and Digital Marketing of Honey Products. The training topic was deliberately chosen related to the application that has been built, namely SNI 7724: 2019 in carbon calculation and the application of honey standards.

The inhouse training was held for 3 days and was attended by 64 participants from 13 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of Forest Management Units (KPH) throughout Riau Province, BPLHK Pekanbaru, Center for the Implementation of Environmental and Forestry Instrument Standards (BPSILHK) Kuok, representatives from PT. Arara Abadi, and farmers from the Forest Farmer Group (KTH).
